Overseas players

Postby Chinaman » Tue Jul 27, 2010 9:25 am

Coincidence or not ...both quarter finals winners had 2 overseas players in their sides....in tight games that extra bit of quality makes a difference.
This seems to be an area where money really talks with wealthy Hants and Notts able to organize their full quota of overseas for the full competition.

On a sad note I think only in cricket would you get a competition dominate the season , last 155 games and then in the knock out section lose it's best players, to a variety of non injury reasons.....Cook, Kaneria, Styris, McCullum x2, Anderson, Dwayne Smith, Pollard, Trott, Prior...all from just 4 sides...what a joke..and it's hoped to rival the IPL!!!!

So Essex play tonight short of Cook, Styris and Kaneria...the difference between winning and losing.

I think this shows just how poor the ECB are running the game of cricket.
